Cub Scouts Select Jf " Pinewood Winners ESCALANTE The annual Cub 0! Scout Pinewood Derby was held jj. Saturday evening at the Escalante 0f'j IDS Stake Center with 18 boys taking part with their homemade cars- a j Winners received' Olympic-type medal for their efforts in the annual bi father-son activity. Winners for the eight-year-olds 8 were Robin Venuti, first place; Jimmy Woolsey, second place, and Willy Dunham, third place. For the nine-year-olds, Dallas Griffin took first place; Matt Simons, second and Scott Edmiston, third. Ronald Cowles took first place for B the 10-year-olds; Travis Cottam took Willy Dunham, front left, Jimmy Woolsey, Robin Venuti and Matthew Simons. Winners received Olympic type medal. second place and Jay Hales took third. The overall fastest cars belonged to Dallas Griffin (first place), Robin Venuti (second place), and Jimmy Woolsey (third place). Jay Hales took first place for the best looking entry; Scott Edmiston took second place and Jason Griffin took third place. Honorable mention for the best paint job went to Travis Cottam. Den leaders are Marlene Stowe, eight-year-olds; Carol Simons, nine-year-olds; and Sandra Cooper, 10-year-olds. Cubmaster is Quay Simons, assistant cubmaster is Stanley Stowe and Cal Porter serves as committee chairman. |
