Show Escalante Chit Chat Fay Alvey Marlene Haws is home from surgery. She spent some extra time in the hospital with complications which she described as, "long as a well rope". Maralda Porter was in the Garfield Memorial for heart tests. Daniel and Orilla Cowles had Dick and Margene Schow here from Salt Lake City for a very helpful visit. The Claron Griffins came home from their winter retreat in time for him to attend a Garkane meeting in Richfield. Thelma Marsh is home after spending some time at the Warren Woolsey home in Cedar City. Dawnetta Griffin and daughter, Mitzie, brought Clarice Griffin home and stayed overnight. They reported that Steve Newbold was scheduled for surgery. Morris and Neta Shirts went to New Castle for graveside services of Neta's half sister, Shirley Hall Tullis of Las Vegas. They visited in Cedar City. The Melvin Alveys went to Panguitch for the funeral services of her sister Mildred Deuel. They got word the next morning of the death of Bill Worthen who is a nephew to Florence, so they went to those services. Sunday was ward conference with Pres. Feltner and Kay Mangum coming from the other side of the stake. The speakers were ward officers, starting with Bp. Gates, Ardis Christensen, Leslie Vinuti, Lynn and Judy Griffin and Pres. Richard Crawford. The Special Interest Group met at the home of Twila Mclnelly for a pot luck supper honoring five members birthday anniversaries. Deon Alvey is still signing folks up for heat assistance so if you feel you might be eligible get in touch with her.
