Show John Norman came home from the hospital and he and Yukon moved into a trailer house which they got from Bernard Schow. Rex and Ray Masters went to St. George to visit relatives and she became ill so was taken into the hospital and had surgery. They are back home and she is doing fine. Roe and Clema Barney and part of their family came from Page and helped Jane Woolsey clean up her lot. The Wayne Banks came home from Colorado by way of New Mexico and had Joan Long and family here from Orem. Weekend visitors at the Hal Shurtz home were Verl Shrutz and wife from Salt Lake City, Brenda and Mike Harper from Pleasant Grove, Elaine and Leone Bailey of Salt Lake City. Escalante Chit Chat Nethella Woolsey had Hal and Lasca Woolsey from K earns. The Rodney Cottams had sons Boyd, Bryce and Dan here from Heber. Many ball fans went to Provo to cheer the boys on, the band also went to play and show their support. Coach Allen got a writeup in the Deseret News. Erma Gates had son Kay and family here from Vernal, Blake and Betty Schow from Salt Lake City. The James Mclnellys had son Vern and family from Richfield. The family of Parley Coleman held a reunion here and went to the Foster Steak house for dinner. There were 30 of them. Mina Porter had Marie and Kenneth Griffin and daughter Deloa here from Provo. Jeff Carter came from Arizona to visit relatives. Leah Griffin and daughter Joy had business in Panguitch. Ada and Alfred Heaps of Riverton and Nora Youngdale of Magna visited the Herman Spencers, the Hyrum Colemans and the Rex Aliens. The Delane Griffins had Marlene Stowe and boys from Wyoming, Ann Haws and boys from St George. The Arnold Alveys had daughter Denise and friend, Mark Williams from Salt Lake City, Raylcne from Las Vegas, Janeen Duncan and kids from Wayne County. She has a new baby girl. Visitors from Cedar City were Arden and Ruby Woolsey, Howard and Lanea Munson and daughter, Edna Sergeant, Bonnie and Robert Smith and little Sambo. Loreta Spencer had son Donald and family from Loveland, Colo. The Claron Griffins and the Gail Baileys went north for the ball games and visited the Jim Spencers in Orem. Jim has been made a high council member and Janet is principal of the Cherry Hill Elementary School which is the largest in Orem. Gail and Donna just got home and were called back for funeral services of a relative of Donnas. Four Mitchel sisters were with their husbands; Marion and Retha Lowder of St. George, LaVean and Ferle Wilkins from California, Jay and Flora Marchantof Peoa, Wayne and Venid Bailey of Salt Lake City, Jay had not intended to come so Flora came with Wayne and Venid, but they hit a rock above town wrecking their car so Jay came and got t them. The Bill Griffins had Randy and family from Kanab. In sacrament meeUng the son of Natalie Porter was christened Jason Scot Porter by his greatgrandfather, Whltey Porter. Carl and Ann Spencer were home for the weekend. Modern gadgets are a boon, we buy them by the score, but when they cease to function, we're worse off than before. |
