Show Tropic Topics Maureen Mangum received word of the death of her grandmother. She went to Salt Lake City, then flew to Maine for the services. Visiting at the Barbara Mecham's home were her daughter, LaRue, and a friend, LaRae Rice from college in Cedar City. The daughter of the Kay Mar Willis' has been a patient in the hospital in Panguitch. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Barton of St. George visited the Loral Barton's. Mr. and Mrs. Ursel Ott spent time in Spanish Fork. While there, they helped celebrate their daughter, Gail Cloward's, birthday. Ruth Baugh and Keela Mangum were in Richfield. They went by Koosharem to take Ruth's aunt home. Paul Mangum, Robert Keene, John Mecham and Eidon BrinKernoii are in Zion where their summer employment has started. Mrs. Rick Bybee had a visit from her parents, the Orland Rueschs, and their daughter, Kim from Ely, Nev. Word was received of the deaths of two of our town citizens, Mrs. Ella Bybee who was . in Salt Lake City with her daughter, Sandra, and Mr. John Mecham, who was living with his aaugnter in laano. Ruth Baugh had a visit from her mother, Gurena Robinson, while her father, Blake, spent a few days in Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Mortenson of Beaver are the parents of a baby boy. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Francisco. Grandma Eva Dean is in Beaver helping the new mother and baby. Mr. and Mrs. John Lyle LeFevre were in town visiting family members. Clint Mecham spent one day home from his job in St. George. Harvey Mecham went back with him. Several of the college students were home for the quarter break. There were a number of out of town people here for the services of Vernal Shakespear. Funeral services for John Mecham will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tropic Ward chapel. |
