Show A total of eight students Mere selected this month by teachers at Bryce Valley Schools as their "March" students of the month. Each student received an individual certificate of achievement and their photo displayed on bulletin boards throughout the school hallways. Telelecture To Conclude Parent Month Activities The concluding event of "Be a a Better Parent Month" will be a telelecture by a marriage and family counselor from Utah State University, according to Richard Littke, director of the Parent Education Resource Center in Richfield. Dr. Glen O. Jenson, Associate Professor and Extension Specialist in Family and Human Development at USU, will be the guest speaker, Friday, March 27 at 7 Jolyn Uarnhurst, left, was winner of the Garfield School District spelling bee and Cheryl Lowe was runner up. Barnhurst is an eighth grader, Panguitch Intermediate and Lowe is fifth grader, Panguitch Elementary. p.m. in the multipurpose room at Ashman School. Activities will be provided by two local 4-II groups for children ages 3 to 10 of parents attending the lecture. Dr. Jenson's topic will be "The Glue That Holds the Family Together." A graduate of USU, Dr. Jenson has been a marriage and family counselor for LDS social services, lecturer and field supervisor for the Dept. of Sociology and Social Work at USU, and served on the Utah State Steering Committee on the Family. Gov. Matheson appointed Dr. Jenson to serve as a delegate to the White House Conference on Families in 1980, and was elected by that group to serve to the National Task Force for the Family. Dr. Jenson is host of 62 video casette programs focusing on quality parenting. He is a licensed marriage and family counselor in the state. |
