Show B.V. PTA Sponsors Student Of Month In an effort to encourage student excellence in academics as well as personal growth, the Bryce Valley Parent Teacher's Association is sponsoring a monthly "student of the month" recognition program. In monthly elementary, Intermediate and high school faculty meetings teachers select six students each month to be honored by the PTA. Parents carry the ball from there gathering 8 x 10 photos of each student and making bulletin displays up and down the halls of the school buildings. Selected as youngest student of the month for March was Jeremy McCluskey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCluskey of Bryce Canyon National Park. The first grader was cited for his friendly and polite manner, his excellent academic achievements, for being a good listener and a conscientious and hard working individual. Selected from the second grade was Ryan Talbot, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Talbot, Tropic. Ryan was noted to have shown consistent growth in classroom work, becoming more aware of fellow classmates and willing to share, to have a pleasant disposition and to always smile. Two sixth grade students were chosen in this month's competition. Cited for her friendly and winning nature was Chrissy Chynoweth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Chynoweth, Tropic. She was also noted to be dependable and trustworthy, disciplined and willing to work hard and showing excellence in all academic areas. Jan Fullmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Mecham of Tropic, was the other sixth grader selected. Jan was chosen for his dependable nature, enthusiasm and politeness and congeniality toward others. Richard Ott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stan Ott, Tropic, ninth grader, is fairly new to the area but faired well in student selections this month. Richard was cited especially for his hard working, conscientious attitude, friendly nature, and is well liked by his fellow students. Kaelynn Bybee, twelfth grade student and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clive Bybee, Tropic, was also recipient of the student of the month recognition. Kaelynn was highly praised for her outstanding leaderhsip ability, her energetic and always willing to help attitude toward work, her excellent academic records, for being friendly and smiling and for being dependable in whatever undertaking. A new category was added this past month for "most improved" two students in the school facility. Cited for this honor was John Munson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Munson of Tropic, and Anita Sudweeks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Derell Sudweeks. |
