Valley. Overall district art and literature entries will be judged this Friday at Bryce Valley Schools. Many winning entrants were reported sick the day Reflections Contest winners were photographed. However, remaining winners at Panguitch Intermediate School were excited about their victories. High school in Escalante had no entries as information was not received In time to participate in the contest. 'Reflections' Winners Listed from Garfield Local winners were announced this week in the Parent Teacher Association sponsored Reflections contests in each of Garfield County's schools. The goal of the Utah statewide competition has been to foster ap preciation 01 line aris amuug jtuuiib people. All students grades one through twelve were encouraged to participate by entering individual works of art, music or literature. Theme of this year's competition was "What a Family Means to Me." Now that judging has been completed at each individual school those entries which placed will be viewed once again this Friday and judged for "best work" ' in region competition, then on to state level competition. , Those adults Involved in coordinating this contest in the schools all agreed on one thought this week which noted that such a large scale cultural arts ap preciation program could not have been accomplished without the cooperative efforts between students, parents and teaching staff. Winners selected in Escalante area at elementary level were in art category; first grade, Travis Cottam, 1st place, Katie Davis, 2nd place, Ricky Dodds, 3rd place; second grade, Alyssa Hardy, 1st place, Lenza Wilson, 2nd place, Robbie Lyn Goulding, 3rd place; third grade, Candence Haws, 1st place, Kimberly Woolsey, 2nd place; fourth grade, Dace Goulding, 1st place, Christina Gledhill, 2nd place, Stacy Davis, 3rd place; fifth grade, Julie Carter, 1st place, Jill Griffin, 2nd place, Stephanie Griffin, 3rd place; sixth grade, Tyra Johnson, 1st place, Michelle Marsh, 2nd place, Lori Porter, 3rd place. Those selected in the literature category were: second grader, Lori Berry, 1st place and third grader, Candence Haws, 1st place. Students recognized at Panguitch Intermediate school in literature were: sixth grade, Bitsy Hatch, 1st place, seventh grade, Shaun Murphy, 1st place, eighth grade, Lynea Matthews, 1st place, as well as Anna Jean Yazzie, . .Steve , Burton, .
