Show Lions Ready 'Clean Sweep' Broom Sale Panguitch Lions Club members plan to make a clean sweep of the city as they launch their first "broom sale." Club members will be selling brooms made by the Utah Division of Service for the Visually Handicapped. The old-fashioned high quality straw brooms are manufactured in the factory in Salt Lake City operated by the visually handicapped. Lions members will have on hand some household brooms and some industrial brooms for immediate sale. A great variety of brooms will be available for selection from the catalog published for the Service. The visually handicapped will benefit from the sale of their manufactured product to the Lions and the Lions will make a small profit on each item to be used as a donation to help support the Mobile Screening and Testing Unit which visits the Garfield County area annually. Area residents should contact Howard Roper, John Trout, or Vee Henrie or any neighborhood Lion to purchase the brooms which will be available in less than a week. The sale will run for approximately one month. Lions Club president noted that 14 tnemaers were in attendance at Monday night's meeting. He said elections are planned for next month and that nominees for election will be named within the next 10 to 14 days. |
