Show Deer Range Rides Slated Are you curious about how the deer have been doing during this dry winter? If so, plan to attend a spring deer ride held on your favorite hunting unit. Range surveys are conducted on all deer units in the state annually by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources. The U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management are cooperating agencies. A horse and lunch are all you need to bring. The purpose of the range rides is to check areas where deer concentrate. Range conditions are noted as are predator kills and other natural mortality. Usually some deer are still found on the wintering areas. The general body condition of the deer is also noted as an item of importance.
