Show Improved Reception For TV Expected in Tropic TROPIC Prospects of improved television reception and additional channels to provide for optimum reception for fringe areas sparked the discussion at the regular monthly meeting of the Tropic Town Board Wednesday evening. Tropic's board voted to support the Bryce Valley Lions Club's venture to acquire in-eETednessof $14,310 for the purpose oflhstalling all new equipment to provide improved reception for television and receiving of FM radio for Bryce Canyon, Tropic, Cannonville and Henrieville. The Lions Club will contribute the big share with funds in the amount of (4,100 already having been pledged; towns involved will furnish the balance of the funds necessary to complete the project. In order to clear up present outstanding indebtedness among some Tropic residents-only 60-percent of whom have paid their current television use fees board members voted to send a letter to delinquent users requesting payment so that work may proceed on the new project as quickly as possible. Follow-up discussion from the previous month's meeting concerned the purchase of paint for the Scout House and tentative plans for a special board meeting for the purpose of discussing procedure and legalities of the coming bond election. In other action, the board decided to draft a letter to the Department of the Interior in support of the Kaiparowits Project with copies to be sent to other supporting groups. The next regular meeting of the Tropic Town Board is set for the First Wednesday in March at 7:30 p.m. at the Scout House. |
