Chairman Named 1 To Heart Fund Loraine Allen, Panguitch has been named chairman of the 1976 Heart Fund drive in Garfield County. As head of the campaign, which will take place in February, Mrs. Allen will coordinate the efforts- of contmunity'volunleers who'wilT visit all residential areas during the month to distribute heart-saving information and collect funds to support research, educational and community service programs sponsored by the Garfield County Heart Association. In accepting the appointment, Mrs. Allen said heart disease is the number one killer in the nation. She noted that "Over a million Americans will die of heart attack and blood vessel diseases this year. This represents 52 percent of deaths trom all causes in (he country." These statistics underscore the vital need for public suppofy of the Heart Fund drive, she added. She urged local residents to give generously when the heart volunteer callt, Mrs. Allen announces the . following ladies have, AcoapUiQ the responsibility of being; chairmen of the Heart Fund drive in their respective towns: Genevieve LeFevre, Tropic; Gloria Clarke, Cannon ville; Janet S. LeFevre, Henrieville; Mary Rich, Bryce Canyon area; Cherie Beebe, Escalante and Mrs. Bill Peck. Boulder. Volunteers will be going out during the month of February asking for donations to the Heart Fund. The American Legion Auxiliary under the direction of Mrs. Allen is in charge of the drive in Panguitch-Hatch area. |
