Show Traffic Generally Up In Region From 1975 Composite traffic patterns at 66 recording stations throughout the state show an overall traffic increase of 2.7-percent when compared with the cores ponding months of last year, and 2.5-percent when compared with the 1974 yearly totals. However, most southern Utah stations recorded generally higher percentage Increases for both December and for the entire year compared with the same periods a year ago. On U. S. 89 with the junction of U-14 at Long Valley Junction 28 miles south of Panguitch, a 23-percent increase was noted for December over last year and 37-percent over 1970. For the entire year, the figure was 3-percent higher than last year, but .3-percent below that of 1970. U. S. Highway 89 east of Kanab showed 24-percent more trafficihan last December; 80-percent more than 1970 and 95-percent more than 1965. For the year, traffic was 11-percet.t above last year; 43-percent over 1970 and 32 percent higher than 1965. On U, S. Highway 89-A south of Kanab, the figure was 10-percent over 1974; 53-percent above 1970 and 36-percent over 1965 for December, For the entire year, traffic was 7-percent higher than last year; 40-percent above 1970 and 52-percent over 1965. On Utah-95 south of the junction of Utah-24 near Hanksville, December traffic was 58-percent greater than last year, and for the year, was 36-percent above 1974. On U. S. 89 north of Marysvale, December traffic was 11-percent grater than last year and for the year as a whole, It was 9-percent higher. For Utah roads as a whole during December, Interstate rural traffic was up 5.4-percent and urban by 2.9- percent. On federal-aid rural roads, an increase of 2.9-percent on primary and a decrease of 2.5-percent secondary was noted. On federal-aid urban roads, the figure was 1.6-percent higher than last December. For the year to date, through December, Interstate rural traffic w& higher than last year by 5.5-percent and urban by 2,7-percent. |
