January precipitation amounts ranged from 40 to 80- The East Fork Sevier forecast near Kingston Is for 19.000 acre feet for 66-percent. Clear Creek, near Sevier, Is forecast at 14,000 acre feet between April and June for 67-percent. Despite the gloomy ttreamflow forecast, storage in the river system's three major reservoirs averaged 146- percent of the 15-year average. Only Piute Reservoir, with 97 percent, was below the average storage. Otter Creek had 148-percent and Sevier Bridge, 186 percent as of the first of February, percent of normal, according to the National Weather Service's River Forecast Center in Salt Lake City. Seasonal amounts in most areas range from 50 to 70-percent. Snow pack water contents also were below average, ranging from 50 to 70-percent over most of the basin. Residual forecasts (February through September) on the upper Sevier River are ex pected to result in water shortages with only 60 to 70-pcrccnt runoff expected, while streamflow In the lower Sevier Basin will be slightly higher.
