Show Girl Scouts Ready Fund Raising Effort The Girl Scouts of America In the Garfield County are sponsoring a fund raising campaign in their local areas, October 1 to IS. The Panguitch troops, under the direction of Karen Sullivan and Velma Elmer will hold bake sales starting Friday. A dance will be open to the public Oct. 9, a children, dance will be held October 10 from 3 to S p.m. The Escalante troops, under the direction of Loretta Shaw. Among some of the projects they are planning is a show on Halloween night Services to troops receives 51-cents for each dollar spent for organization of new troops, recruitment, selection, placement and induction of adult volunteers, professional help and guidance to troops and adult volunteers, financial assistance for girls to attend national and International opportunities, to send more than 140 girls to established camps and enables national affiliation and charter privileges. Adult Education receives 15-cents for each dollar spent for introductory and on the job training tor leaders; provides films, records, slides, books and manuals, and other audio visual materials for troop use; and kits for trainers, leaders and service teams. Outdoor program receives 26-cents from each dollar spent for maintaining buildings; sites and camp vehicles; food for campers and staff at established camps; trained and qualified staff; special interest equipment and insurance coverage and medical care. Special areas receives 8-cents' ; ' from each dollar spent for help in the organization and ' recruitment of troops in hard- , to-reach areas; services to i handicapped girls; day cam' ping for the underprivileged ! and sponsoring conference to . provide help for community j groups with special needs. j |
