Show Chairmen Note Success of Benefit Dance "When people respond to a situation as favorably as everyone did to the Chet Crofts Benefit dance it rejuvenates the faith one has in humanity," Barbara Leach co-chairman, said. LaMond Davis, co-chairman, said, "when you are doing something for someone you wake up each morning feeling good, you have something to do and something to look forward to, I guess that is what life is all about helping each other." .They were hoping to raise at least $500 and by the generosity and the big hearts of everyone they were able to raise three times that amount according to Davis. The two main prizes given away were won by local residents, the gun donated by Chets grandmother, Ireta Anderson was won by Brian Foy and the quilt made and donated by Erma Henrie and her mother, Martha Itenrie was won by Carolyn Miller. Also many items donated by the town merchants were distributed among those attending the dance. |
