Show New Doctor Opens Office In Panguitch Wednesday Wednesday, Dr. Stanley J. Bezek began working in the Garfield Memorial clinic and hospital. Like other two physicians, who arrived in July, Dr. Harry Cavanaugh and Dr. Donald Lappe already at the clinic, he is also a young doctor who was recruited by the National Health Service Corps. This is a branch of the Public Health Service, which attempts to place well trained physicians in parts of America that have a shortage of doctors. Dr. Bezek was born in Minnesota, received his bachelor's degree at St. John's University and his M.D. from the University of Chicago in 1972. His post graduate training has included two years at Cleveland's Metropolitan General Hospital and one year at the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver. Now that Dr. Bezek has joined the staff of doctors, plans will be finalized as soon as possible on the clinics to be held in Escalante, Tropic and Piute County. He, like his associates is committed to comprehensive an4 preventive care as well as traditional acute crises care. The clinic's goal is to make health education an important part of the clinic's efforts and to help the patient understand why doctors are doing or not doing something for them, as well as help them realize the doctors are keeping up to date in the latest ideas and help the average patient get the best quality hospital and referral care possible with an appropriate specialist on the medical center. Dr. Bezeks wife, Carrie, is a registered nurse and will be working at the new hospital. 1 |
