Show Cannonville BY MELDA DAVIS (Last Week's News) Rhoda Shaffer, Gretha Twitchell, Bertha Graff and Fern Henderson visited Alta Henderson on her birthday and had dinner with her. Ivan and Nelda Willis spent one day with her also last week. Visiting Fern Henderson on Sunday were Eldon and Verl-ene Gleaves of Antimony. The Ephrlam Twltchells went to Salt Lake to be with son Danny who was to have another operation on his leg; her mother, Julia Elmer, is taking care of the family while they are away. Made a trip to Glen Canyon with Cal and Carol Saturday, Sherrll, Mary and family spent Saturday night and Sunday home with us. Verl and Rose Palmer from Glen City were visitors in town Sunday. Byron and Gar da Davies went to Orangeville to visit daughter Maureen and family. Quite a number of our local people attended the wedding reception and -dance for Dl ane. Marion Clark Jr. is working for the Park Service at Glen Canyon. The speakers in Sacrament meeting were Alton Shakes-pear of Tropic, Truman Lyman of Boulder and President J. Clyde Spencer of Escalante. O t Everyone was so happy that our Bishop could attend church Sunday. He and Mae will go to Salt Lake Monday, he has an appointment Tuesday with his doctor. A fine program, was presented in church. A tape was played of a talk by Afton Pollock, . followed by teen age talks by Craig Twitchell and John Fletcher; talks by June Nell-son and Bishop Mecham from Tropic; George Wilson of Tropic visited our church also. Martin Stock spent last week home with his parents, Bert and Arma. Stock, he is In the Army, stationed at Ft. Lewis Washington. Maud Reynolds of Richfield and daughter Rhoda Barney of Central spent the weekend at the Lark Reynolds. Home from CSU for the weekend were Rose Mary Fletcher, Ann Thompson and Judy Twitchell. Marion Clark spent the week end home, Marion Clark Jr. spent a few days home also; Steven Clark has returned to his job at Salt Lake. Visitors In Cedar City Saturday were Alma Fletcher, Eddie Dunham, Mrs. Thompson, Laurie Holly and Karmen. Oscar Dutton of Cedar City spent the weekend with son Deloy'and t family, Hilda Leslie is staying with Deloy and Karr en and going to school here. - Howard Savage was in town one day last week to visit his sisters Lee Ida Dunham and Karen Dutton. 'The Relief Society held their Birthday Party Wednesday night In the new hall. A fine program was presented. A one act play entitled, Dust"; those taking part were Ada Thompson, Karen Dutton, Bill Nelson and Angus Baldwin; several musical numbers presented by Terry and Melvln Dutton on the guitar and Aerial Fletcher on the accordlan. Then a lovely banquet was served. |
