Show Preal Veater Dies Suddenly At Home Funeral Services Held Thursday Preelle Pearl (Preal) Ruby Veater died at home Monday, March 22, 1965 at 12:45 A. M. of natural causes. She was born at Kingston May 17, 1896 to James Lyman and Annie Rachale Johnson Ruby. On August 12, 1916 she married James LaRoy Veater in Parowan; their marriage was solemnized in the St. George Temple March 24, 1927. At the time of her death she was serving as County Captain of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers and a member of the Cornelia Camp in D.U.P. Preal was assisting in the genealogy class in the M.I.A. She was past vice president and a member of the Literary Club of Panguitch. She has also served in the following positions: President of the Cornelia Camp; on the Panguitch Stake Primary Board and Relief Society; Panguitch Stake Genealogy Society; Attendance Secretary of the North Ward M.LA.; Chairman of the Genealogy Committee and a teacher in the Genealogy class; visiting teacher in the Relief Society for over forty years; teacher in the Sunday Schools for more than 25 years, and a teacher in Primary. Preal started teaching in the -Sunday Schools at the age of 14 and had continued teaching in one of the auxiliary organizations in the church up to the time of her death. She possessed a talent for giving readings and talks in public and for doing beautiful hand work and quilt making. She had a great love for doing Temple work. Mrs. Veater was a kind loving friend to everyone she met and always ready to help in time of need. She spent many hours visiting and helping the sick. She is survived by her husband and the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Dortha Reld, Mrs. Floyd (Tony) Prince, Preal Veater Clark, Mrs. Gordon (Annette) Beckstrom, Mrs. Royce (Pearl) Walker, all of San Diego; 26 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; a brother, Johnson Ruby, Circle ville; a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Fern) Perkins, Cedar City. Two children preceded her in death, Monte and Ruby. Funeral services were held March 25th in the Panguitch North Ward chapel. Family Prayer, Clark Veater. The grave was dedicated by Floyd Prince; burial was In the Panguitch Cemetery under direction of Neal S. Magle-by and Sons Mortuary. |
