Ho favorably reported from the committee com-mittee on accounts a resolution Increasing In-creasing their salaries from G0 to 170 a month. Tho resolution was agreed to at once. Just as the result was announced an-nounced Mr. Hughes realized that ho had been directed by the committee to report the resolution with tho recommendation rec-ommendation that It should not pass. Next day ho moved to reconsider the action. But his motion was laid on the tablo by a voto of 96 to 41, thus affirming tho Increase.
