You can bring your household hazardous waste material from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., to the Weber County Transfer Station located at 867 W. Wilson Lane. Enter the facility from 21st Street, east of the freeway. Signs are posted. Clean out your garages and homes, and bring your hazardous materials to the collection site for proper management. Like new or half-used bottles will be put in reuse center. Spread the word to friends and neighbors. Car pool wastes (neighborhoods, scout troops, etc.) Assist those in needs with proper disposal of their waste. At the reuse center, the public can take home items brought in by someone who didn’t use any, or only part of the product. You will be able to take these products home free of charge. What to Bring to the Facility: Bring in household products containing toxic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, cleaners, solvent, poisons, antifreeze, pool chemicals, drain cleaners, hobby chemicals, auto degreasers, old gasoline, transmission fluid, and any unknown questionable products. What NOT to Bring to the Facility: Products that you may still be able to use or give away to someone who can use them. Explosives, radioactive material, gas cylinders, or pressurized tanks, ammunition, flares, infectious waste, and material packaged in larger than residential size containers (5 gallons). Also, don’t bring in liquid paint. It can be dried out with kitty litter, or by leaving the lids off. After the paint is dried out, the container can then be disposed of with your regular garbage. Transport: Please do not consolidate or combine different wastes. Important: Leave all products in their original containers. If leaking or corroded, put container inside another container (no mixing of chemicals). Make sure containers are sealed and packaged to prevent breakage and leaking. Place containers in the trunk or back of your vehicle, away from passengers. Sponsors of the collection will not be responsible for improper packaged or transported material. Remember: Household Hazardous Waste should never be disposed in the trash, as the Hazardous Waste may harm sanitation workers or start fires.
