Thankfully, we’d always go to see this beautiful thing for ourselves. Thankfully, because whatever he told us about in those notes was always worth the trip. Once it was a moose in the east section of Eden Hills. Sure enough, there he was lounging next to the bushes behind the Rahrer’s house. Another time it was a beautiful flaming maple tree in the fall somewhere in Monastery Cove. We didn’t even know where Monastery Cove was, but we did some checking and spent a while finding it. The tree was magnificent. A third time, it was a have-to-do hike to Catherine’s Lake in Brighton. He claimed that the wild flowers were dazzling. We found the note upon our arrival home after a week away. The next day we headed to Brighton and found just what Pete was describing. He was right—we had never seen such a magnificent display of color! The last time I saw Pete, I sat with him and Barbara in their living room, drinking coffee and marveling at the beauty of the Orioles coming to Barbara’s feeders on their front porch. Pete, wherever you are now, I pray that there is as much beauty as there is here. And I know that John and I will always see the beauty in things, and we’ll always think of you when we see the trees, the flowers, the hills and mountains, the birds at the feeder, the rain, and all the every-day beautiful things that are around us. Helene Liebman & John Klisch Eden A good neighbor . . . a great friend . . . an inspiration to all who knew him . . . that was Pete. He displayed courage and dignity beyond the normal standards. Through it all, there was always a wonderful sense of humor. We feel blessed to have shared quality time with him, whether it was canoeing, fishing, hiking or just sitting on the porch enjoying nature. Ed & Shirley Rahrer Eden Just thinking about an old friend who’s gone on before makes us feel good to have known him. Pete Bealba was a good friend to those of us in the real estate business. My wife and I got to know Pete when we all worked together at Gump & Ayers Real Estate. Pete was the Ogden Valley guy and we were the Morgan people. We all referred to ourselves “Gumpies” and “dirt salesmen” as not to get too big headed about our role in life. Those were good times with good people. Pete was well known for his knowledge about the “dirt business,” his friendly smile, willingness to put in the extra effort and his bull-dog determination to get the job done. We all looked out for each other, helped each other, fought with each other and thought the world of each other. “Good by, dear friend, we miss you. Thanks for sharing part of your life with us. We are better people for having known you”. Steve & Kris Wilson Mountain Valley Realty, LLC I’ve had the opportunity to work with Pete for the last year and a half. In the Valley, his name and real estate go hand-in-hand. While working with him, I’ve noticed his work ethic, his commitment, integrity and care for others. His positive attitude right up until the end was amazing. We will miss him, but we know he is in a better place. Our lives are better for having associated with him and his sweetheart Barbara. God bless, Dick Payne Coworker Pete was a great realtor – a real pro. He was also a wonderful human being, a great teacher and a kind person. You always knew where you stood with Pete. He was courageous and didn’t hesitate speaking his mind. Even more impressive to me was Pete and Barbara’s relationship. I’d have to say it was the most important thing of all – true love. Ken Turner Friend & Coworker When I think of our Pete, the words that come to mind are; a gentleman, a professional, a friend. How he always brought a smile to our face in spite of his own enduring problems. That was Pete, he never complained, he always saw into tomorrow. Pete always had a ray of hope. How will I remember Pete; as an example, a stellar man I was blessed to know. A connoisseur of Ghirardelli chocolate, artichokes and asparagus. Pete’s boyish grin and lighthearted humor will always bring a smile to my face and warmth to my heart. Sue Hansen Friend & Coworker Although my relationship with Pete was mostly professional, his integrity, sincerity and compassion were also very obvious in our personal relationship. Pete’s overwhelming health problems were secondary to his personal and professional relationships. I will not forget the look on Pete’s face coming out of an open house, after we hid his shoes. Dick Dixon Friend & Coworker Pete Bealba was a force for good in our office. His positive attitude affected everyone he encountered. Pete was a very giving person, and was never too busy to lend a hand. He will be greatly missed at Coldwell Banker. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to work with him. Cami Sitton Friend & Coworker When we moved to Utah we were lost, so to speak. Pete came to the rescue spending numerous hours with us looking for a place to call home. In the interim, we became good friends with he and Barbara. We didn’t know many people at the time and Pete made us feel so very welcome. He could be counted on to have a plan about what to do for entertainment. Pete always wore a smile and we will miss his friendship and loyalty. We love you Pete, Dick and Jerrie Ary Eden Pete Bealba was an instant friend to whomever he met. All who came in contact with Pete felt of his genuine and caring demeanor. Peter was one of those people who contributed to society and to the people around him. He certainly had a way of bringing out the best in many of us. He seemed to take an interest in other people, which in my experience brought out the best in myself. Thank you Pete for your influence and your friendship.
