Stucki to address Bountiful writers The Bountiful Chapter League of Utah Writers is happy to welcome Jan Stucki (or Stucki, as she prefers to be called) for a hands on experience in the November meeting. Jan was born and raised in Oakland, California, but is presently living in Salt Lake City. Her schooling at the University of Utah focused mainly on fiction and she is now in the process of defending herthesis, which is a collection of stories. She also teaches freshmen composition and technical writing at the U. Last year she won first prize for a short short (a story consisting of only a couple of pages) in the Utah Arts Festival. She has had stories published in several books including: The Way We Live: Stories by Utah Women; Sun Dog; A Room of Ones Own; and Willow Springs. She is presently working on a book with a photographer about unusual Mormon women. When asked what she does as hobbies outside of writing and teaching, her quick reply was she was g completely overwhelmed with at the moment , however, in the past she enjoyed running and sailing. She and her husband, Scott Wilson, have a daughter. Though she says shes trying to remove herself from the University in many ways they just bought a house across the street from the University of Utah. child-rearin- ld Bountiful.
