Mr. and Mrs. James Wimber apd little girl left Sunday for Salt Lake City, where they will take in the Fair and Irrigation Congress meetings. They may later make an extended trip east to their former home. What with the meeting of the republicans repub-licans in their county convention and the coming of many of the students to begin work at the Aca demy, the town was fairly lull of people from the neighboring towns last Saturday and Sunday. Dyches has been confined to her bed the past two weeks but is now reported as improving., Mr. and Mrs. George Jorgensen will teach at Desert Lake and Victor respectively re-spectively the coming winter. Miss Florence Jorgensen has been assisting in the Progress office a part of this week in the absence of Miss Wood, who has been busy helping her folks move house. Quite a large number of local people made the trip to Salt Lake at.different dates this week, with the object in view of taking in some or all of the various doings at that place. John Snow, Jr., of Orangeville has sold his interest in the People's Meat shop to his brother Russell, who has thus added to his already heavy local holdings of various natures. J. W. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Clrristensen of Lawrence were among the visiting dancers at tha Academy opening ball last Monday night. Last Friday morning Joseph Smith, one of the prosperous citizens of Desert Des-ert Lake, passed through the Dale, with a herd of 650 fine goats that he was bringing from Wayne county, where he and family have been sojourning a part of the summer. These are not all he has, however, as he already had a good herd on his ranch over the way, and these but augment the fact that goats can be raised very profitably here.
