Show "Over the mountain ' ' CLIPPINGS FROM SANPETE PAPERS Mt. Pleasant Mrs. Harold Sorensen was an Eph-raim Eph-raim visitor the latter part of last week. Mrs. Andrew Jensen of Salt Lake City was guest at the home of Pres. C. N. Lund a few days last week. J. N. Shayer of Rupert, Idaho, has been a business visitor in Mt. Pleasant this week. Amasa Aldrich of Salt Lake City was a business visitor in Mt. Pleasant Friday and Saturday. Mrs. Wallace Pettey, who has been visiting with relatives and friends in Mt. Pleasant and other towns in the county returned to her home at Price last Friday. Miss Roxy Smith of Ohio is here yisiting with Mrs. H. LeRoy Nielson. She will remain in Mt. Pleasant for a few weeks and then she will go to Idaho. Mrs. J. S. Airmet of Boise, Idaho, was in Mt. Pleasa nt last week visiting with her sister Mrs. P. M. McArthur, and also her aged mother, Mrs. Dorthy Swensen. Miss Kate Musig who attended summer sum-mer school at Berkley, California, this summer has returned home. Ed Beckstrom came in Sunday from Garfield to visit a few days. Willis Hunter left Fridav for Ober-lin, Ober-lin, Ohio, where he will attend college. He went in company with Andrew Nielson. Miss Frances Jensen departed for Ohio on Friday where she will take up her college work. Miss Jensen completed com-pleted her work at the Wasatch last year and will continue her education ht Oberlin. Andrew Nielson returned from Long Beach, California, where he spent the summer months with his mother and after a short visit with his friends in this city made his departure for Ohio where he will attend college this coming com-ing school year. Mrs Geo. Christensen entertained at her home Wednesday evening in honor of Miss Loraine Stevens, who will soon depart for a mission to the Northern States. The entertainment consisted of music, games, etc. A dainty five course luncheon was served to about twenty of MissStephens friends J. Carlos Lambert, Deputy State Dairy and Food Commissioner, was in Mount Pleasant this week and reports that he finds conditions very good in this city. A Lady Missionary's Farewell Ball will be given at the Armory Hall this, Friday evening, in honor of Miss Loraine Stevens, who will leave soon for a mis sion to the Northern States. The Religion Class dance and social held Wednesday evening was a most delightful affair and much enjoyed by the children. Another one will come Boon. Watch for it! George Peterson returned home this week from Norway where he has been on a two years mission. He is looking fine and reports an enjoyable time. Miss Mable Borg gave a piano recital at her home Wednesday evening. All her pupils took part in the recital. The Mt. Pleasant Band is preparing to go to Salt Lake City next Sunday to play at the National Irrigation Congress. Con-gress. The little child of Mary Parsons was buried Thursday in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Funeral services were held at the North Ward meeting house. A rousing Bull Moose Meeting was held at the City Hall last night. Almeda Carter left Thursday for Hoodriver, Oregon. Mrs. Lydia T. Winters was the subject sub-ject of a very pleasant and successful surprise at her home Friday evening of last week. The party was given in honor of her birthday. Some excellent presents were received. All manner of eatables were brought by the party and an elaborate luncheon enjoyed. |
