Show ACED LADY HONORED' WITH BIRTHDAY PARTY. A very pleasant birthday party was held at the home of Mrs. Annie U. Larsen Tuesday last, it being Sister Larsen's 80th birthday. On accountiof her poor health the invitations were not extensive as all would have liked it to be as she is a favorite in every town of both Carbon and Emery counties, where she labored for nineteen years as stake president of the Relief societies. socie-ties. An enjoyable time was had by those present, she herself acting as hostess, and superintending the tables where a dainty lunch was spread. Mrs. Larson enjoyed the visit with her friends and also the following sentiments senti-ments read by Mrs. J. E. Childs: Dear sister we love you! and this being your natal day, we come to show that love by our presence. Yours has been a most lovable character, gentle, kind, and solicitious of all around you, each one in turn receiving from you a look and expression of tenderness and love, mother comforted by your wise counsil The child is soothed by your look the and the sick are always remembered -by your gentle presence. The living have been made better by your words of cheer and the dead have been re lsased from their long confinement by by your hand. Thus, sister, have we not many reasons to love and cherish you? And now in your ripe old age, when the sand of time are nearly run, we bless you and invoke the blessing of a loving and allwise God upon you, that the few short years you stay with us may b: spent without pain, and a sweet restful spirit may abide with you; for surely the world is better for your living in it. |
