He received awards of perfection from two companies as being sary. Friends and relatives are being invited to call at 300 East Gordon Lane, Cottonwood Cove, at the mobile home club house between the hours of 3 and 6 p.m. Tom was born in Millcreek, a few doors west of the Millcreek LDS wardhouse on 3900 South and about 600 East. He was the oldest of seven children, born to Bishop Edward M. and Emily Rynearson. He received his schooling at Lincoln elementary, Edison junior and Granite high schools. Tom and Merle exchanged their marriage vows on April 4, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. This was in the midst of the depression years and Tom worked with his father, managing Hoskinsons Stores in Salt Lake and felt himself lucky to be working 3 days a week during those hard times. Later in that same year they moved to California where they had their first child. They returned to this their top technician. Merle, the daughter of Duane Reuben and Mary Miller, was born in Winder area where the family lived for nine years before moving to the familys 56 acre farm in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Merle was the youngest child and the only girl. She worked closely with her mother who produced plays and cantatas for the Granite and Butlerville LDS wards to earn enough money for them to be able to purchase their first piano and organ. She attended South junior high and LDS high and Business College. She filled a stake mission during the depression years in Liberty stake. She worked in the office at Utah Woolen Mills and earned the money to send her brother Marlow on his Swiss German mission for the LDS church. In those depression years of the 1930s, five of her brothers were among the millions unemployed and Merle would often give them 50 cents each so they could attend the dances at the Blue Bird dance hall which stood on the south side of 900 South between Main and State Streets. Another favorite recreation spot was the Saltair resort and she would give her brothers 10 cents each for the train ride and dance held on the shores of the Salt Lake. Lots of music was in Merles childhood home and her first piano lessons were given by the Lindsay sisters, Utahs top musicians at that time. Her mother was well able to help also, inasmuch as she herself had given some of the first lessons to J. Spencer Cornwall who later became conductor for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Merle has composed music herself and much of it has been published. She was employed for four years at Paramount Tailoring Mills, finan- council and served a mission, w.ih his wife, in the PennsylvaniaPris-bur- g area The honored people are the parents of three sons TheyareT M., Murray; Fred L., Hunting-Beach, CA and Gary M of Littlet'-nColorado.
