The oldest daughter weds, younger daughter Toni (Constance Marie) becomes a nun, and Chucho (Esai Morales) becomes the family’s troubled son — rum- joy of “My Family/Mi Fa- milia” is how director Gregory Nava (“El Norte”) and his cowriter and wife, Anna Thomas, show the Sanchez family in momentsof despair andjoy. There is heartbreak, but there is also humor. Nava gets the atmospheric details right, from the ‘50s beehive hairdos to the coldness of the prison bars.
