Show 4B Lakeside Review South, Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1983 Shape Major Factor LYNDIA GRAHAM Review Correspondent LAYTON Shape will be the in factor womens wear major for fall, according to Joyce Gor-dofashfon coordinator for r, ZCM1. Over the past several seasons, two definite shapes have been established in clothing, one that is close to the body, slim and elegant, and the other a layered, voluminous look that can in part, be worn in bits and pieces by all age groups, but as a total concept is best adapted to the younger set. But whatever the silhouette, fall clothes will share a common trait, what Ms. Gordor called a lack of fussy detail, making the use of fashion accessories take on an even more than usual importance. Several new fall trends are being promoted this year with looks from funky to the pol- ished, professional look of the smart set. The smart set look will feature fabrics and styles noticeably in-- i fluenced by menswear, asccord-in- g to Ms. Gordor. The suit will be a must, most often worn with a narrow skirt, or with trousers with a cuff. ' To go with the suits, new suit blouses and suit sweaters, soft and without a lot of detailing, will be a big asset to the fall wardrobe. Detailing on the blouse might include some tucks, and soft cowl neck or a collarband neckline. Woven or knitted sweater vests will be what Ms. Gordor termed a must for fall fashion and mens cardigans will h ave a big influence, often being worn like a vest, either tucked in or pulled down long and belted. Shirts will be best in broadcloth and warm fabrics. Some will feature trench details, some fly front closings. The dolman sleeve is making another fashion appearance. Fabrics for the smart set suit trend will range from gabardine and flannels to cavalry twills and glen plaids. Herringbones, chevrons, and pin stripes will be favorite pattern choices, again showing the influence of mens- Fall for Clothing Styles in Gloves, either in leather or Gordor.
