Peveloped by Capt. David L. Smith, Tooele Army Depot, the program is designed so that a hospital requiring blood can request assistance from the depot dispensary. The dispensary then requests a specific type of listing from the data systems directorate. The listing may be the names and addresses of donors from a particular area or those with a particular type of blood. Utilizing computers, the listing would be available within seven minutes .ter the request for assistance is received.
