Show I and Jeneal Greer Lafeens died in a traffic accident in Woods Cross Saturday night. of Leon 26 Thursday, December 11, 1975 Willard Wrapup 2 children Christmas shopping makes a mob washing blood stains out four alive walking and talking kids Christmas shopping. And no one except a husband completely unaware of the facts of kids in a store full of toys would suggest such a thing. After receiving my instructions from out of town husband, I, like the dutiful and obedient wife I am, took the four blessed angels to Brigham City to ooh and ah the merchandise. There is something wrong with the above statement. I believe husband might have a word or two about dutiful wife not to mention obedient. And children separately might be angels but any more than two in one place constitutes a mob with all the nasty attributes of same. If youve ever taken a child anywhere above the age of three months you know they dont look quietly with their hands in their pockets. They touch and hold and break the things in the store while shouting at the top of their voices. And no two children are interested in the same things at any one given moment. Each wants to go that way across the store while you follow helplessly behind. After trudging through dozens of stores to see which toys would be the most likely to run the batteries out Christmas morning, the crowning moment came when baby tried to walk and fell flat on her tender nose and mouth. of win- ner. So when husband again suggested we ail go shopping and then have pizza and look at the pretty lights, Im afraid I was a bit too vocal. I told him Id stay in the car and watch all the Brenda Atencio, In class and Jaci Pulsipher tied for first place. Tom OToole took second. Jennifer Ward was the third place winner. Congratulations to these seven students and we hope each of them and the others have fun and enjoyment out of these lessons. Weekend guests at the home of Seth and Maureen Thorpe were Seths parents John and Wanda Thorpe from Roberts, Idaho. While they were here Maureen and Wanda went on a shopping trip to Ogden where they purchased a few gifts for Christmas. harried shoppers drag their while he and our tired youngsters fought the crowds. As far as Im concerned, the true Christmas spirit is best enjoyed when husband is out shopping with the kids and Im sitting home by a beautiful fireplace listening to carols on the stereo. Shelia and Mitzi Miller, Kristi and Sherie Zundel, Mindi Olson and Lory Larkin were all part of the Pat Wiggins dance recital held Nov. 29 at Mt. Ogden Junior High school in Ogden. S00 Participants Proud parents, grandparents and assorted relatives and friends watched the 500 participants. But I have it on good authority that our six Willard girls were the standout stars of the show. Thanksgiving day guests at the home of Dan and Sue Miller were Sues brother and his wife Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Laird from Santa Ana, Calif. Ruth Warren, the beginning organ instructor at the school, has announced the winners of the nine week competition in her classes. The winners were determined on the highest scores on the work sheets and the assigned organ pieces. Each winner received a small gift for his efforts. His visit was sponsored by the city council and Im sure all the children were most grateful. They must have been well repaid when they saw all the happy little faces. Now Im not normally an eavesdropper but I couldnt help but over hear this explanation by a four year old as to why Santa came on the fire engine and didnt bring his sleigh. On the way down from the North Pole Santa had to cross some very rocky roads and on one of them one of the thingers broke (I take that to mean the runners), and Santa had to hitch a ride. The first thing that came along was the fire truck and the fireman brought him down. I have been assured by that same little boy that one of the elves will know how to fiv the sled. So Santa will still be on time. Our condolences to the family Held Party The Third ward Primary workers and their husbands held their annual Christmas party at the church last Saturday evening. The group enjoyed a planned pot luck ham dinner with all the trimmings. A group of 10 entertainers from the LDS Institute program at Weber State provided the entertainment. They sang musical numbers with a Christmas theme in mind. The Presidency wishes to express their thanks to all those who helped in any way to make the evening a success. Fred and Tine Dial went to Salt Lake City to the home of the Emer daughter and and Ila Nelson for the Thanksgiving weekend. Emer drove up to Willard to pick them up for the holidays. Thanksgiving dinner was enjoyed at the home of granddaughter and her husband Jerry and Sharon Rogers. Fred and Tine are glad to be able to go to their childrens home and enjoyed their mini vacation greatly. Monday Melvin Bateman, a professional puppeteer and ventriloquist from California entertained the school children at an assembly. Mr. Bateman is well qualified as an entertainer. . . . son-in-la- dummies were very sassy during the show and Mr. Bateman had to put them away in the trunk. Because he needed help with the rest of the show, he asked if there were any dummies in the audience or anyone who felt like a dummy that day. A good third of the children and at least one or two of the teachers raised their hands. Mr. Bateman chose Brian Holmes and Jacqulene Pulsipher to assist him with the rest be presented by St. Michael's choir and vocalists from other churches including (front) Paula Ekstrom, Joan Williams, Wilma Johnston, Betty Janiak; (center) Fran Harrod, Nancy Jane Bales, Dot Bolieau, Genie Kirchoff, (back) Alien Long, Bob Lavery, Chris Bolieau, George Church, Will Mark, and Churck Voris, choir director.
