Walker, an associate professor of English at Brigham Young University, has been named "Honors Professor of the Year" by the BYU Honors Program. He was selected by the Honors Student Council based on student recommendations, according to Dr. Gary L. Browning, director of the Honors Program. As one honors student stated, "Dr. Walker has the best professor-studecommunications of any professor I've had. His class is never boring." Dr. Walker joined the BYU faculty in 1966 and is currently a member of the graduate faculty in English. In 1978 he was honored as English Professor of the Year. He obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees at BYU and his doctoral degree in modern British literature at Harvard University. Dr. Walker and his wife Ardith have three children.
