So.. .when you keep very fast pacing. You will always win the racing! RUNNING FREE SPEED by Kent Deleone Running free down the tracks. In a sled made of racks. While I race, The wind blows into my face. I steer the sled, While everyone else ducks their head. I curve around the turn, I can hear my brakes burn. I've won first place, My competitors are so disgraced. SPEED by Gordon Marshall Speed is as fast as a bobsled. It is so fast, the air pressure is on your head. The seconds are past. The ice sparks fly up behind you There is never a boo when you zoom past, fast! BOBSLEDS by Catlin Bean You slip, you slide, you really glide. The G force weighs as heavy as 150 pounds of hay. Our heads are up now and I can feel the brakemen pulling on the brakes. We stop and the announcer announces the time. 56 seconds. I can't believe it. It felt like several minutes had gone by and then I find out that we set a course record! When I was on the ice, I noticed I had lice. My shoe, Was full of glue. When I pulled the brake, I ran into a lake. When I was gliding, I should have been sliding. To be a runner, Is much funner, When I tried to stop, I almost had to hop. THE RIDE by Kristen Poole At the top of the track, we're waiting to push the bobsled. There's a shot, we're off. We start running with the bobsled. I go first and jump in and then my teammate goes next, then the next teammate and then the last teammate jumps in. I'm keeping my head half way up but the others are keeping their heads down waiting for the next turn. Leaning, gliding, sliding slid-ing down the track-the seconds are going by, my heart is beating like a drum. We're going faster. The G force is pushing down on our heads and backs. We can't push our heads back SPEED by Agnes Johanson, teacher What we're talking about is speed. These guys really have the need. Many years of focus and training. Enables the team to keep on winning. Decathlon athlete turned bobsled driver, Working toward a goal hour after hour. Silver runners on red, white and blue. Fly down the run with a G force or two. The team works like human clocks, Taking the turns, taking the knocks. At the bottom the sled comes to a stop. Another race of beating the clock. The crowd's alert, they begin screaming. Their team has won, the people are beaming. On to the world to race some more, See you in the Olympics.
