The Park Record Section A Thursday, May 26, 1994 D Page A7 Motorist dumps bag, then reports it stolen A woman on Sandridge Drive galled police May 19 when she saw atnan in a green and beige Bronco drop a gym bag in the street and drive off at high speed. She discovered the bag contained women's clothing and identification. Minutes after her qall, a male arrived at the Park City Police Department and reported his yqhicle had been broken into and a gym bag containing women's clothing had been taken. The man left before police could get more jifarticulars. They are still attempting to locate him. T'On May 16 a Radisson Hotel employee called police to report three individuals having a disagreement in the lobby: When the responding officer arrived, one individual accused another of pointing a weapon at them. One of (ne others was accused of wielding a fireplace poker in response. Police suspected drugs were irivolved in the altercation. J,'A man on Iron Canyon Drive' complained that two individuals had bten littering in the area May 16. The responding officer took a description of the individuals, found them and cited both. Kearns Boulevard was the scene of a two-car accident May 16. Splice arrested the driver of one of the. cars for driving under the influence of alcohol. A man on Royal Street called police when he discovered a large quantity of green fluid in a culvert adross from the Goldener Hirsch May 16. The fluid turned out to be an environmentally safe cleaning fluid. ,rWhile at the Park City Self Serve Station May 16, a woman was robbed of her credit cards, some cash and her check book. She later recovered the credit cards, but not the cash or checkbook. On May 17 police ticketed and towed five cars parked illegally in Swede Alley. 'oA man on Deer Valley Drive witnessed a dark blue Bronco hit a Nissan that was parked in the Snow Country Condos parking lot May 17. The Bronco left the scene quickly, the man said. '(0n May 18 police warned the .i . i Police Blotter occupants of a vehicle parked at the top of Daly Avenue that it is illegal to camp inside city limits. Police responded to a complaint of a barking dog near the fire station on Park Avenue May 17. Fire fighters told police the dog was theirs and they would take care of the problem. On May 19 several people called police to complain that dump trucks were dropping large rocks and debris on their way out of Park City. .Summit' Countyi Sheriffs Office also received numerous complaints, A highway patrol officer eventually located and cited the driver. The construction company he was hired by agreed to pay for any damages. Two cars collided near Adolph's on Thaynes Canyon Drive May 19. An individual walked into the police station May 19 to report a dispute outside the station on Marsac, during which people were throwing beer bottles. Police stopped a motorist on Heber Avenue May 19 and ended up arresting him for possession of marijuana. His car was impounded and he was taken to Summit Defensive d course now The Utah Safety council is offering defensive driving courses for people in the Salt Lake City area. The classes are held throughout each month, at Cedar Park Business complex in Murray. The eight-hour course teaches how to recognize and react to different hazards including bad weather, rush-hour traffic, sharing the road with other cars, cyclists and pedestrians. Drivers who successfully complete the course receive a 50-point 50-point reduction from their Utah driving record, once during a three- County Jail. On May 21 an officer on patrol discovered a disturbance in front of the Black Pearl. The officer put two individuals in a cab and sent them home, after confiscating and pouring out a quart of Southern Comfort. A citizen called police to complain of a loud party at the three Kings Condos May 21. Some time later, the responding officer located and dispersed people at a bridal shower in one of the units. .-, On the same day, a woman at the same condos reported seeing a large male wearing a black mask and camouflage attire sneaking around outside. The responding officers were unable to locate anyone. A man on Park Avenue reported seeing a male individual sitting on the steps of the Yarrow Hotel, bleeding from the face May 21. Nobody was there when police arrived. On May 22 police arrested one male for public intoxication and took him to jail and cited another for disorderly conduct following a fight at the Club. riving offered year period.
