Reichardt - On "Search for Tomorrow," Tomor-row," Sarah Whiting is confused about what she wants to do with her life now that she's come to live with her grandmother, Jo Tourneur. Not confused about what she wants out of life is Michelle Joyner, the 24-year-old actress who portrays por-trays Sarah. . Miss Joyner has been acting since the age of 7, when she appeared in school and community productions. She enrolled at Emerson College to , continue studying theater, but was sidetracked when a photographer suggested that she try modeling. "I came to New York City when I was 18 to have head-shot photos made so that I could go out on acting act-ing auditions in Boston, and the photographer suggested sug-gested that I try modeling," model-ing," remembers Miss Joyner. "For two years, I posed for magazine covers cov-ers and did TV commercials commer-cials in Europe and Japan. "The modeling afforded me the opportunity to travel trav-el all over the world, and I really had a great time." After her successful modeling stint in Europe. Miss Joyner returned to the United States. With her background in regional theater, and in-off-Broad-' way roles, it wasn't long before she landed the role of Sarah. Gawin and Phyllis Goodrich of Reno, Nev., arrived Wednesday to spend a couple of weeks with their daughter and son-in-law, Reed and Robyn Merrell and family. Frank and Sandy Stevens and family fami-ly of Orem spent the weekend here with her parents, Harold and Marie Merrell. Kermit and Yvonne Harrison and Leo Rod and Hennie Withee, Linus and Tammy Harrison and family, Lamond and Julie Harrison and family went to Denver Saturday to visit with Tim and Yvette Thomas and new baby girl. They also attended church with the Thomases where the baby was given the name of Valyn Thomas. The Harrisons Har-risons returned home Sunday evening. Fern Everett and her daughter Shelley Howells with her two children all of Fruita, Colo., spent the weekend here with Fern's mother, Nellie Richens. Saturday Nellie and Fern attended at-tended the Luvie Jacobson family reunion reu-nion at Iron Springs. Mark and Carta Coombs and twins and Elaine Merrell of Salt Lake City were guests at the Grant and Frances Merrell home over the weekend. They also attended the Merrell family reunion reu-nion on Saturday. Elder Ryan Oldaker returned home Friday evening after spending the past ' eighteen months In the Manila Philippines Philip-pines LDS mission field. He is the son of Carl and Shirley Oldaker. Ray and Vergie Gee went to Provo Wednesday to take their grandson, Adam Smith, home. Adam had spent several days here with his grandparents. Hugh and Cleo Oldaker and son, Ren, spent last week in Kcmmerer, Wyo., w here Hugh went to help In the bakery at that place. Norman, Janna and Brad Haslem went to San Jose, Calif., early Friday morning to keep a medical appointment appoint-ment for Brad. They returned home last Saturday night. Visiting at the Hugh end Cleo Oldaker home early this week were Larry and Sylvia Olson and two children of Uiverton, Utah. Rick and Debbie Foster are the parents of a baby girl born Wednesday morning at the Ashley Valley Medical Center. Norman and Donna Merrell took their daughter Cindy to the Salt Lake Airport last Wednesday. Cindy went on the plane to New York City where she has employment. Mae Hemstalk accompanied her sisters Vera Olson, Ellen Gardiner, Gladys Baker, Ethel Luck, Pearl Allen, and Marilyn Warren to Salt Lake City Wednesday. On Thursday they took Mae to the airport to fly to her home in Oraville, Calif. Mae has spent the past month here with her sisters. Angela Coonradt and son, Mark, and Verdin and Peggy Goodrich recently attended a bull riding contest in Rapid City, S.D., where Mark was a participant. partici-pant. Mark placed seventeenth out of two hundred and eighty contestants. While in that area they all enjoyed touring the Black Hills and other places of interest. Racers place at BMX meet Shannon Tracey collected top honors in the 13 year old advanced girls race, Saturday at the BMX races at the Outlaw Raceway in Naples. Heidi Hill placed second and Cassandra Harrison finished third. Jake Carter captured first place in the 5-7 novice and Jeff Hacking finished second. Heath Snyder finished finish-ed third. Heath not Keith Snyder placed third July 27. Dean Henline snared first place in the 8-9 novice and Tracy Carter finished second. Joey Upshaw placed third.
