Show T. Harold Jacobsen B OUNTIFUL Thomas Harold Andrew Jacobsen, age 71, passed away July 9, 1990 at Lakeview Hospital of a massive heart attack. He was bom Aug. 12, 1918 in Ballerup, Denmark Den-mark to Anders Jacobsen and Anna Elise Maria Sorensen. Married Erika Elfriede Seiter Jan. 31, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. accessories and archival table. He was instrumental in the preliminary planning of the LDS Church granite vault in Big Cottonwood Canyon. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944-48 in the European Theater as a special agent in the Counter Intelligence Intel-ligence Corps. He was commanding officer of the 153rd military intelligence intel-ligence at Fort Douglas. He retired from the military as a major. He was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He held many church positions including high councilman, counselor in Sunday Sun-day School, Gospel Doctrine teacher; high priest group leader and genealogist. genealo-gist. He is survived by his wife of Bountiful; Boun-tiful; daughters, Carma (Mrs. Dallas) Dorney, Ogden; Kathryn (Mrs. Leonard) Matthews, Montpelier, Idaho; Connie (Mrs. Randy) Chamberlain, Littleton, Colo.; and one son, Harold (wife Carrie) Jacobsen, Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Crystal Christensen, Karen Elva Nielsen, Florence Jacobsen, Vivian Stong; brothers, Wilford and Parley; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandson; great-grandson; a niece, Julia Wolters, Pleasanton, Calif., nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and one infant daughter. Funeral services were held July 12, in the Val Verda Third Ward chapel, Bountiful. Interment was in the Salt Lake City cemetery. Funeral directors, direc-tors, Deseret Mortuary. He served as coordinator of the Records Division and Microfilm Division of the Genealogical Society in Salt Lake City 1936-61. Assistant treasurer from 1956-61. He became the Utah State Archivist Records Administrator 1963-83. He is listed in Who's Who in the West 1970-1990. He was the recipient reci-pient of many honors and awards, including in-cluding the Silver Platter of the Utah Genealogical Association, 1983; Outstanding Service Award, National Micrographics Association, 1980; Fellow in the Association, Information Informa-tion and Image Management; life member of the National Rifle Association, and member of the Utah Historical Society. He was the author of "Ancestry of Carma Erika Jacobsen, 1943-44"; "Genealogical Lesson Plans", 3 vol., 1954; "Manual to Microfilming," 1959; "Microfilming in the State of Utah," 1964; "Guide to Official Records of Genealogical Value in the State pf Utah," 1980.
