Show Local gets MIT BS A Bountiful man was among 1,712 students graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology recently at the school's 124th commencement. David G. Barrett received a bachelor of science degree in aeronautics and astronautics, part of what MIT President Paul Gray called 4 'the most rigorous university univer-sity education in the nation." Gray addressed the graduates, along with Virgilio Barco, President of the Republic of Colombia. Barco, Bar-co, an MIT alumnus, was recently honored by the MTT Corporation for his efforts to break up powerful drug cartels in his country. He told the graduates that drugs and organized crime represent the greatest threat to democracy, both in Colombia and in the United States. |
