Show Rigdon to speak on marital stress Michael Rigdon, Ph.D.( will speak at a meeting of the Educational Educa-tional Support Group for Parents and Friends of Children with Seizure Disorders on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Courtyard, third floor, Primary Children's Medical Center, 100 N. Medical Drive, Salt Lake City. Dr. Rigdon will lecture on the subject, 'Marital Stress: The Impact Im-pact of a Child's Chronic Illness on Marriage." Rigdon is associate professor pro-fessor and chief of the Behavioral Science Division, Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, University of Utah School of Medicine. Med-icine. According to a spokesperson for the support group, husbands and wives, no matter how similar, or how much they love each other may adopt different ways to cope when their child has a seizure disorder. Some couples find that these differences, differ-ences, coupled with the needs of other children, financial stress, pressure from relatives and pure physical exhaustion can lead to isolation from each other. How can marriages survive such stress? Dr. Rigdon, a licensed counseling psychologist, works with parents who have children with chronic illnesses.
