Show Farmington mother and son injured in three-car mishap By MARK EDDINGTON Staff Writer FARMINGTON A Farm-ington Farm-ington mother and her 5-year-old son were injured Wednesday afternoon after-noon in a three-car accident at the intersection of U.S. 89 and Shepard Lane, a Utah Highway Patrol spokesperson reported. Bonnie Mihlberger, 44, and her son, Chad, were in a 1971 Torino traveling westbound through the intersection in-tersection about 5:30 p.m. when they were struck broadside by a 1982 Subaru driven by 17-year-old Emily Robison of Fruit Heights. The impact sent Mihlberger's car spinning into a third vehicle driven by Paul Lawrence. Kristina Lawrence was also in the 1989 Mercury Sable. Neither of the Lawrences were injured. 1 Robison was traveling southbound south-bound on U.S. 89 when the accident occurred. Witnesses at the scene reported the area was blanketed by a thick layer of fog. Police said Robison failed to stop for a red light at the intersection and struck Mihlberger's vehicle. Robison was treated and released for minor injuries at Humana Hospital Davis North, a hospital official said. Lake view officials said Ms. Mihlberger was treated and released with only minor injuries. in-juries. Chad Mihlberger suffered a fractured leg and clavicle, and minor lacerations. A Lakeview spokesperson reported he was hospitalized overnight and released Thursday. UHP officials have cited Robison for running a red light. Police estimate the amount of damage to the three vehicles to exceed $10,000. |
