A three-story frame house, built by the architectural design class of Prof. Stanley Hallet, is nearing completion after several quarters of preparation. The project began fall quarter as a competition among members of the class, according to Prof. Hallet. Hal-let. The class divided into four groups, each group designing a house, afterwhich the class voted for the design they liked best, he said. Preparations Set "During winter quarter the group whose design won, refined the plans and preparations were made for the actual building of the house," said Prof. Hallet. Between quarters the foundations were laid by the students and during dur-ing the first weeks of spring quarter, quar-ter, the house has been steadily going up, he said. "All of the 21 members of the class are in their first year of architectural design," said Prof. Hallet. The members of the group that designed the house are Randell Imai, Lyle Knudsen, Sandra Kiger, Dale Kirby and Esteban Prieto. Temporary Project According to Prof. Hallet, the house is basically a temporary project pro-ject designed to give the students experience in the actual building process.
