Show Faculty Urged To Seek Political Spots The Board of Regents has taken action encouraging faculty members mem-bers at the University to seek elective elec-tive office. By a unanimous vote Monday, the regents amended chapter nine of Regents Regulations to grant faculty members leaves of absence in order to run fop political office. Previous regulations required prospective candidates to resign their positions at the University and face possible loss of tenure it they sought reemployment The action "reflects a policy of the regents of encouraging political involvement," according to Donald Bv. Holbrook, regent chairman. Provost Alfred C. Emery told the regents that another resolution governing gov-erning the University's adrninistra-tive adrninistra-tive officers would be forthcoming. This proposed resolution would also serve to encourage political pation. University Executive Vice dent Neal A.
