Show Happenings in Mapleton by Mrs. Glenn Seal Phone 489-6091 Mapleton First Ward reorganizes MIA and other officers Sunday Several changes took place in ;the Mapleton First Ward Sun-day Sun-day evening. Harold Barker was released as ward executive ; secretary and Lee B. Barthol- ;omew was sustained. George ' Sorcnson was released as ward finance chairman with rra Allan Al-lan being named to fill his place. YMMIA superintendency was reorganized with Richard Howell How-ell as superintendent; Lynn Houtz, age group assistant, and Kay Bills, activity assistant. Released were John Roylance as superintendent; William Gammell and Ira Allan, assistants. assis-tants. YWMIA presidency was also re-organized with Roberta James named as president and Reiniece Shelley retained as ncunselor. Donna Brown was released due to moving 1o California. Cal-ifornia. Mr. and Mrs. Preston Hooper Hoop-er had as guest recently, her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Thales Brown and son, Jim of Parowan Mr . Brown teaches school at Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gatton have moved into th?ir new home here. They are formerly of Puget Sound, Washington. Attending the National Wool Growers Convention at San Francisco recently, were Neil Whiting, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Blegggi and Mr .and Mrs. John Blcggi. They also visited Joe Bleggi and family, a brother of Lewis and John, while in the windy city, before returning heme. Ralph Gren is in the Payon Hospital due to a heart ailment. ail-ment. John Holley suffered a heart attack Sunday, while at work and is in the Payson Hospital. Don Korth is in the Utah Valley Hospital for treatment and observation. Mrs. Harold (Joyce) Whiting is confined to the Utah Valley Hospital where she underwent major surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wis-combe Wis-combe of southern California, has been the house guest of Deon Dove. All the Mutual Laurel girls and their mothers met at the stake house to here Mrs. Sandra Covey speak. Mapleton was well represented represent-ed at the Eagle Recognition Banquet in the Wilkinson Center Cen-ter recently Attending from the three wards were: Morris K., Johnson, Robert B. Perry, Mark S. Whiting, Bradley Brinkerhoff, J. Shelby Hooper. Mark E. Poulson and Stephen R. Bills. |
