Show Soph wrestlers - take two firsts Springville High School sophomore soph-omore wrestlers did well in the sophomore regional wrestling match held here. Uintah, which is not in the region, was allowed al-lowed to compete and walked off with top honors. The school is traditionally strong in the Wrestling sport and is rated as the top B school and could probably take most of the A schools in the sport. Springville placed fourth. Coach Wade Bender's wrestlers wrest-lers came up with two firsts, Steve Bartholomew in the heavy weight won first. Steve is the son of Mr. and Mrs. El-don El-don Bartholomew. In the 120 pound class, Kent Huff, speedy wrestling son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Huff, also placed first. . Others of the soph team who placed include the following: Monte Dansie, second; Kim Bunce, Dennis Wilson, and CHAMPS Kent Huff, left, and Steven Bartholomew won first In the sophomore wrestling meet held at Springville High School last week. The two sophs are promising wrestlers wrest-lers and have done well in their first year on the mats. Kent wrestles in the 120-lb. class; Steve is a heavyweight. Mike Olson, all placed third in their respective weights; Mark Davis, Louie Charlie and Kim Anderson each took fourth in their classes. A number of these wrestlers have been instrumental instrumen-tal in the Jayvee's undefeated season. |
