Show Wrestlers meet Sp. Fork today Springville' wrestling team at the high school chalked up another an-other victory in their match with Lehi last week winning 25-18. The SHS Jayvees remained re-mained undefeated with a lopsided lop-sided victory, 24-4. Tuesday night of this week the SHS wrestlers met Payson and came out victorious 20-22. Today at 3:30 p.m. the SHS Jayvees travel to Spanish Fork for their final match. The varsity var-sity wrestlers also take to the mats following the Jayvee match. Regional tournament will be held at Carbon Feb. 14 and 15 with the fellows placing in the top four spots qualifying for the state finals the next weekend, Feb. 20, 21 and 22 at Kearns High School. Coach Wade Bender's grap-plers grap-plers have had a winning season this year having lost only three matches, Provo, Carbon and Orem. Prospects for a number of the wrestlers qualifying for the state meet look good, he pointed out. Payson came close to upsetting upset-ting the Red Devils Tuesday night when they came to within with-in two points of tieing. The Jayvee team handily won their match to stay undefeated in wrestling to date. |
