Show Child day care center sought at council meet City fathers handled routine council business at their regular regu-lar session held Monday evening. eve-ning. A request by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Pickering was made to operate a child day care to be located at 700 East between Center Street and Aaron Avenue. Av-enue. They were referred to the planning commission. Chamber president and vice president Mclvin Duke and Larry Bumingham met with the council to report on the activities of the organization and inform the council of projects pro-jects in the planning and now in prograss. Councilman Child made a motion with a second by Councilman James the city budget $2,000 again in the next fiscal budget for the Chamber of Commerce. Motion carried unanimously. Tom Averett presented the drainage problem on property in the west fields. The county commission will be contacted regarding this. Eugene Nielson and Art Maxwell of the Nielson and Maxwell Consulting Engineering Engineer-ing firm met with the council to explain some of the master planning tney are doing in the northern part of the state, wherein cities and counties are working together in storm and sewer drainage programs. Should a similar program be needed here they would be available to engineer the projects pro-jects they pointed out. |
