Show Through the cooperation of the City Recreation Department, Depart-ment, and the assistance of the National Guard, Spring-ville's Spring-ville's winter recreation pro gram is now well underway. Developed at the mouth of the left fork Hibble Creek Canyon Can-yon is the new tubing hill area. ar-ea. The area is easily accessi ble from the roadway and is just west of the turn leading to the left fork. The Springville Jaycees will spearhead the development de-velopment of the tubing hill this winter. Last winter's tubing tu-bing spot farther up the left hand fork was a popular spot and hundreds of tubing fans enjoyed the sport throughout the winter. That spot has since been re-done and eliminated for tubing. An ice skating area has been diked at the south end of the Middle School tennis courts and is ready for flooding and freezing, freez-ing, weather permitting. This phase of the winter recreation program will be under the Hobble Creek Riding Club direction di-rection through the city recreation rec-reation programand plans call for a rink that will provide ice skating througohut the winter's win-ter's cold months. Plans are being formulated to assist Mapleton with further development of their sleigh riding rid-ing area so that this can be a part of the two cities winter recreation program. |
