Show Poster winners receive awards Three peppy poster winners, Marie Calder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Calder of Ma-pleton, Ma-pleton, first; Debra Allan, a daughter of Connie and the late Leland Allen, second, and Emily Em-ily Tucker, daughter of Mr. .and Mrs. Art Tucker, third, received cash awards for their efforts at the Legion Auxiliary meeting Wednesday evening. Clara Sumsion, chairman of the poppy poster project, made tthe presentations. Parents of the girls were invited as guests. The posters were displayed about the club room with the three winners occupying the front area. The winning poster will be entered in the district contest. Mrs. Sumsion reported that a total of 57 posters were entered in competition from the junior high and Middle Schools and all were very fine in their effort to portray the living symbol of veteran sacrifices. President Lela Nelson presided pre-sided at the auxiliary meeting which featured a guest day program pro-gram and each member introduced intro-duced her guest. Cleonda Miner was program i chairman and introduced Lillian Thorpe, who reviewed in most interesting manner, Sam Lev-inson's Lev-inson's book, "Everything but Money." Marshall S. Fox and his wife . Joan, entertained with appropriate appro-priate duet selections, accom-: accom-: panied on the piano by Julia Sumsion. ' The meeting closed with re-' re-' freshments served by hostesses Leonia Cameron, Thelma Clark, . Dona Harmer, Eva Curfew and Helen Wheeler. |
