Show Sprinyviile-Mapleton Junior Rifle Club holds awards presentations 110 Hunter Safety students and 65 Marksmanship students received their awards last Thursday night at the annual Springville-Mapleton Junior Rifle Ri-fle Club awards presentation program. Coach Stan Watts spoke to the group of members and parents par-ents and then made the presentation pres-entation of awards. i Pvceiving special recognition for outstanding scores in their respective Hunter Safety clas-. clas-. ses were Robert Marshall with a score of 284 and Scott Sta-heli Sta-heli with a score of 279 out of a possible 300. Steven Killp a c k received special recognition for having achieved the Distinguished Expert Ex-pert rating which is the highest rating possible under the Marksmanship program. Gene Gurr was awarded the Club Champion for the second sec-ond year running in the advanced ad-vanced class and Janet Whitney was awarded Club Champion in the beginner class. Receiving trophies for the recent Father and Jr. match were Rick and Dick Newton winners, Steven and Garth Killpack first place, cl. B, Michael Mi-chael and Dewane Barrett 2nd pi. cl. B, Mark and Dick Newton New-ton 1st pi. cl. C, Joey and Dean Smith 2nd pi. cl. C, and Debra and Lee Herbert as high girl. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee has cut President Johnson's request for extending extend-ing the Arms Control and Disarmament Dis-armament Agency. The cora-mitttee cora-mitttee approved an authorization authoriza-tion of $17-million for the next two years. The President asked for $33-million for three years. |
