Boyer has filed as a candidate for State Rep- resentative from District 43, which comprises Springville, Mapleton, Benja min, Lake Shore, Palmyra, Genola, Santa-quin, Santa-quin, Goshen, and Elberta. Mr. Boyer has been active in the Democratic Party in the Springville area for a long time. He is president of the Bureau and has also served on county committees of this organization. or-ganization. He is vice presl- dent of the Springville Irrigation Irriga-tion Co. He has served on the U. S. Agricultural Conservation Conserva-tion Committee both local and county. i Edward H. Boyer, candidate for state representative. Mr. Boyer is an active mem- ber of the LDS Church, hav- S ing served as a ward bishop and a counselor 17 years. He is now a member of the Kolob Stake High Council and Director Direc-tor of the Springville-Kolob Stake welfare farm. He has been active in Scouting Scout-ing since he became a Scout and has been registered for 40 years. Three years of the time, he was active in organizing the Scouting program in Holland, while serving as a missionary. He organized one of the first Vanguard Explorer Posts in Utah. He is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and also al-so the Springville Kiwanis Club, where he presently serves as chairman of the House and Reception Committtee. He is married to Vesta Frost Boyer, formerly of Riverton. They are parents of twelve sons and daughters, six of whom are married. They have 18 grandchildren. He feels that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to work and to earn his own way, and this lesson should , come early in life. : He is opposed to the liquor-; liquor-; by-the-drink proposals. He respects the law of the I land and asks all Americans to stand for the rights of those who respect law and those who enforce it. Mr. Boyer and his sons are successful farmers and also j operate a small trucking business. |
