Show Mill Creek WBBA crowns queen; players get caps A special queen contest and program for the Mill Creek WBBA League was held last Saturday night at the Brook-side Brook-side School to which all players play-ers and their parents attended. Debbie Binks, daughter of Mr .and Mrs. Glade Binks, was crowned queen for this season by last year's queen, Joan Dean. First atttendant named is Janet Peterson win Gloria Lowe as second attendant. The queens were named on a solicitation solici-tation basis with a dime a vote. There were 30 girls entered in a race which netted the league $255. The money will be used to purchase new uniforms to replace the worn out ones for the all-star team. Dale Peterson, emcee, introduced intro-duced each queen and her attendants. at-tendants. The queen received a $15 award plus prizes. The attendants received $10 and $5 respectively along with other prizes. Each of the other girls in the contest were given prizes priz-es also, some contributed by business houses in town. Mil-he Mil-he Peterson, in charge of the queen contest, was also presented pre-sented with a lovely corsage. Barbara Martin was in charge of the program assisted by Faun Killpack. Co-Presidents Bill Duncan and Morrell Dean presented the teams managers. Other officers of-ficers of the league include: Jerry Smith, vice president; Ann Smith, secretary. Coaches and managers of the league include: Wheelers Mortuary, Don Hansen, Max Locke; Central Bank and Trust, Dean Tipton, LaMar Clark; Beryl's Apache Tire, Ted Mc-Quivey, Mc-Quivey, Russell Martin; Rexall City Drug, Dee Hatch, Ridge Phillips. Each team in turn was introduced and presented with their new player hats. |
