Show Interesting book reviewed at club An interesting evening was spent by members of the Ladies La-dies Literary Club Tuesday of last week at the home of Mrs. E. T. Crandall. Mrs. Ray Gam-mell, Gam-mell, club vice president, conducted. con-ducted. The club collect was read by Mrs. A. E. Jacobsen. The program for the evening featured Mrs. Berton Groes-beck Groes-beck in a review of the current book, "Gentle House," by Ann Perrott Rose. It was the story of a Latvie born youth and the problems he encountered in adjusting ad-justing to this country and the people with whom he lived. The book is based on facts and describes des-cribes how faith, love and a good home function to make a fine young man from an apparently ap-parently displaced youth. Sue Ann Childress, granddaughter grand-daughter of the hostess, entertained enter-tained with two piano selections. selec-tions. The program was preceded by a nicely arranged tray luncheon served by the hostess assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Jack Childress and a sister, Mary Schwartz. Next meeting of the club will be March 12, at the home of Mrs. Oliver H. Dalton, when Mrs. F. C. Packard will give a music program. |
